WHO IS A NOTARY PUBLIC?

A Notary Public is an admitted attorney who has completed the requisite written examinations and been admitted to practice as a Notary Public by the High Court of South Africa.

A Notary Public is specialises and is authorised by the High Court of South Africa to draw and register certain deeds, attest contracts, statements and witness signatures (officially) and to authenticate the validity of certain documents for usage in another country or in South Africa.

In order to become a Notary Public you must first be admitted as an Attorney of the Republic of South Africa.
